Updates: September
2011 – The
time for change is upon us! Can
it be? Is it September already? Where has the year gone? Hello
the start of school, goodbye end of the First Fiscal Quarter, goodbye final
breaths of Summer as we start the long journey into the cold and dark of
Autumn and soon Winter. I
make promises and am forced to break them unfortunately, but then this is real
life isn’t it. We want to do so much,
to make so many people happy, but then you really have to stop and ask
yourself “why am I so Hell bent on making them happy and not make myself
happy?” It’s
a question that came up often as I worked on stories and the next book in my
King of the Rose series. So,
as much as I know this will result in fire bombs in my email inbox, I must –
no, NEED to back off writing for a little while and concentrate on me. I
have neglected my health and, to some extent, my family as I worked on
writing and pretty much nothing else. To that effect, my new goal will be to put
out new material perhaps four times a year and to coincide with the fiscal
quarters for the ease of things. I
will continue to occasionally post new things on DeviantArt.com for The Dish
and the WoW gaming blog, but to deal with near
constant migraines now I must back off anything requiring deep and creative
thinking. For
the next little while there will be no stories, no art, no new chapters, and
possibly fewer updates to the Update section of this webpage. Now
this in no way means I am giving up on writing. I could never do that. But I have more personal issues to deal with
that MUST take precedence over everything. Merry
did we meet, and now merry we do part… for now. Blessed
be all and never stop dreaming. So

2011 – Hello August, last final hurrah for kids about to start or return to
High School and the start of classes for many College and University bound. And
luckily none of this applies to me ^_^ I’m done with school until I decide
whether or not I want to take a Business Administrative course or not. At this rate it’s leaning more to the
latter than the former. The
way things have been going lately I might have a new chapter to my Crystal
Wing story under the Teddy Ruxpin header on the left. I’ve been bitten by the nostalgic
creativity bug and a few new scenes popped into the foreground of my
imagination. A little bit of spit and
polish and this chapter will be ready to sparkle, to use a jewellery analogy. The
Vision of Escaflowne is also coming around nicely,
if not at a snail’s pace. Is there
something slower than a snail since that would fit a little better? To the last chapter I have yet to post I
have managed to add in maybe 3 paragraphs of action, but they are just walls
of never ending text as it is. I need
to go in and trim them down of whatever is excessive, split them up into more
coherent blocks, and add flesh to places that desperately need it. Hmm,
I did have a scrap scene on my cutting room floor that would fit nicely
there. I’ll hunt through those files
later. For
now I am dealing with a doctor in abscentia who is trying to
convince me of a more holistic approach to the excrutiating agony I feel
every day in my left knee. I am
aiming, rather reluctantly, for surgery to fix this for at least the next 5
to 10 years while he wants me to reply on braces and topical analgesic creams. Doc, there is only
so much Voltaren will do for this pain and I am
tired of having to take Advil or Tylenol day in and day out. I’m
not looking forward to knee replacement surgery, but as far as I can see this
is the last remaining option left to me. But
like I once mentioned, pain seems to be a strange source of inspiration for
writing. From a psychological point of
view this is probably my brain’s way of distracting itself from the
pain. Whatever it is, I’m not
complaining about it ^_^ My
channel of Doctor Temperance Brennan (Bones) for the month. As
mentioned below work is still hectic so no free time there, but the home life
is fairly settled these days allowing for quite a bit of creativity to come
forth and manifest itself. So much so
that I have been tempted to take out my canvasses and brushes and start
painting. I know I shouldn’t repress
that creative aspect, but I have writing to complete and I am far too prone
to start a project and leave it hanging these days. Writing
first. Painting will come next. Guess
I should maybe create a virtual gallery for those pieces, no? Keep
